With the nice weather, you might want to make the most of it by enjoying the sun while getting active. 

Whether you’re planning a game of football in the local park, or trying your hand at tennis here’s our top tips on how you can look after your health while enjoying getting active.

Staying Hydrated

We all know we should try to stay hydrated, but it’s particularly important when you exercise. This is because while you exercise you can lose fluid mainly through sweating and breathing1. If you don’t drink enough to top up your fluid levels, you could become dehydrated.

Make sure to drink plenty of water before you start exercising and also bring a bottle of water with you when you’re exercising.

Looking after your skin

If you’re spending a lot of time in the sun during your workout you should make sure to look after your skin, particularly in summer. Here are some top tips so you can make the most of your sun cream:

  • Use an amount of sun cream equivalent to the size of a golf ball or 6 teaspoons to cover your entire body
  • Drink plenty of water. Dehydrated skin is more prone to sun damage
  • Reapply sun cream after you’ve finished exercising
  • Don’t forget your ears!
  • Don’t forget to protect your eyes! Choose sunglasses that protect your eyes against UV

In case of injuries
