The first ever UK Betterlife store opened in New Wortley, Leeds, last year and was crowned ISG Store Design of the Year at the Oracle Retail Week Awards 2015, meaning we came ahead of Waitrose, Debenhams, John Lewis, Argos and JD Sports to name a few.
Betterlife products are currently available through LloydsPharmacy stores and through the Betterlife website. Demand for products has grown significantly in the last year – demonstrating a clear need for a dedicated store in the area.
The new store will offer a highly innovative and interactive design concept and includes:
* A ‘track’ for people to test scooters – including AstroTurf to test different surfaces
* A working lounge ‘set’ and kitchen ‘set’ for people to test products and imagine themselves at home
Sue McCoy, Betterlife store manager, says: ‘We’re delighted to have Alison Hammond with us on Monday to help launch our first ever Betterlife store in Birmingham and we’re inviting all local residents to come down and join us for the occasion too.
‘Residents will now be able to visit our store and put our products to the test in a real-life environment before buying – allowing them to ensure it is absolutely right for them before putting it to use in a real situation, marking a real breakthrough in the Betterlife offering.
‘For some people admitting that they need help is a big step and we hope the store will help to support customers and their families when making purchase decisions – offering comfort, advice and reassurance.’
Betterlife, which is part of the LloydsPharmacy group, offers a wide range of independent living solutions to help with everyday tasks – from bathing and dressing, to cooking and getting around. An archway will link the new Betterlife store and the LloydsPharmacy next door, allowing trained experts to provide holistic advice that combines the various healthcare offerings across both stores.
