As part of Ask Your Pharmacist Week, 6th to the 13th of November, we want to celebrate what makes pharmacies great – our healthcare team! That’s why we’ve spoken to five customers’ who’ve told us about the excellent experiences they’ve had at one of our pharmacies across the country.
The first member of our healthcare team that our customers have told us about is Halay Bazgar from one of our pharmacies in Reading.
“Halay is always happy, friendly and will go the extra mile for all her customers. I fell over near your chemist and cut my head, it was bleeding a lot but she took me inside, cleaned it and took me home after. She also kept in touch as she knew I was a widow to make sure I was alright.”
“You don’t get many people doing things like that in this day and age. It is a pleasure to go to this branch as they are all always happy and a happy pharmacist makes for happy staff and happy customers. Halay never forgets her regular customers and she always has a king word for them.”
“It is just a very happy place to go to. I look forward to going there because I know I will be welcomed and looked after. I give the pharmacist and her staff 120%. Plus if you need advice on tablets or creams she will tell you or find out if she does not know and ring you with the results”
Joanne Larkman from Pontardawe has also been celebrated for her hard work and cheerful demeanour.
“Joanne is very dedicated and nothing is too much trouble. She will go the extra mile to source anything that is required, whether that means going to another LloydsPharmacy, calling around to find what you need or the closest comparable product. She always advises you on any offers that are available and the best deals for the residents in my care home.”
“Joanne has a very pleasant disposition and is always happy and cheerful in her approach, even when on the telephone. She is polite and courteous in every exchange and provides a perfect customer experience from start to finish.”
There are times when going the extra mile for your customers literally means travelling an extra mile, and that’s why Tina from our pharmacy in North Street Sudbury was praised by one of our customers.
“Having picked up my repeat prescription I noticed, when I got home, that my Metformin were not with the rest of my items. I rang the pharmacy and spoke to Tina who I had dealt with when I picked up my prescription.”
“Tina did a check and said that the Metformin had not been ordered that month. I explained that I needed them for my evening does, so she told me to keep calm and that she would see what she could do and then call me back. When she did call me back she said she had explained to the surgery what had happened, who then issued a prescription for the Metformin and she would arrange for it to be delivered to save me coming out again.”
“That evening Tina delivered the Metformin to me herself and even brought the prescription for me to sign. I know that I don’t live too far out of town, but I know that Tina lives on the other side. So for me that is literally going the extra mile and is deserving of an award for excellent customer service.”
Our next great customer experience is celebrating two of our healthcare team from Rhiwbina in Cardiff. Tricia and Ryan are being commended for their dedication to their customer’s health and wellbeing.
“Last year I was on my way to my local LloydsPharmacy in Cardiff to pick up my prescription when I was involved in a minor traffic accident which left me shaken up and with a nasty cut on my right leg. Everyone was most kind, checking that I was okay and there didn’t appear to be any serious injury.”
“However, Tricia was concerned about the cut on my leg and felt that it needed prompt attention. She and Ryan offered to take me to the A&E department at the nearest hospital and contacted my daughter to let her know what happened.”
“They then drove me to the hospital and waited with me for a couple of hours until my daughter was able to get there. My leg has since healed well and I am certain that their concern and prompt action contributed substantially to my recovery.”
Our last customer experience is praising Terrie Edmands from our branch in Bell Green, Coventry for her support over the last 10 years.
“My husband and I came to Coventry 10 years ago and since the first time I went to the shop Terrie has looked after us.”
“My husband had early onset Dementia and she set it up for his medication to be delivered and on time. If the delivery man wasn’t in she handed the medication to me on her way home. If she ever saw or heard of anything that would help my husband she would do her upmost to try and get it for me.”
“Terrie has a busy family life and is always busy at work, but she always has a smile and a kind word to ask how I am and everyone who comes into the shop. All the staff and pharmacists are lovely and helpful, but I do look for Terrie if I need to enquire about anything and she will explain it or find out about it for me.”
“She now only looks after my prescriptions and my brothers and my sister-in-law as sadly my husband past away. On behalf of the three of us we couldn’t think of anyone better to put forward as she does go above and beyond for her customers. She doesn’t just treat her job as a job; she treats it with care for people who need her help, with concern, and even a hug when needed.”
