I have recently been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. Do you have any tips to help me manage it?

There are a few things that you can do to help manage Diabetes and make it apart of your day to day life. This can include regular monitoring of your blood glucose level. This is important as keeping your levels under control can decrease the risk of any complications in the future. Take readings before meals and 2 hours after a meal. Aim for 4 to 7mmol before and less than 8.5mmol after meals.

Having regular cholesterol and blood pressure checks can help monitor your condition and maintaining a healthy lifestyle including eating regular meals including a diet of vegetables, high fibre foods and avoiding high saturated fats. Increasing physical activity can improve the condition of your heart and lowers your blood pressure.
